At first they need us, and then we realise we need them. We are so sorry you are having to consider this decision. We have provided some information for the euthanasia process which particularly pertains to horses, but may also be appropriate for your other dear paddock mates.
Our Experienced Equine Vets will have a chat about The Process of Euthanasia, why it sometimes may be the kindest option, and why it doesn't get any easier for the vet. (Warning: this article discusses the process of euthanasia which may be upsetting to some readers).
Options for after your pet has been euthanased:
- Burial at your property (Check with your local council and the land owner)
- Burial at a pet cemetary
- Remains removal
- Cremation for small miniatures
- Cremation for larger horses
