Merry Christmas Everyone!

We hope you all are able to have a wonderful break with your nearest and dearest, including those hairy four-legged ones in the paddock. For those who haven't yet heard, Dr Kylie has healed very well and as of this week, has recommenced vet work. We're all ecstatic to have her back in, and would like to specially thank Dr Dave for doing such a good job of taking care of you all in the meantime.

A reminder:

Christmas Break Notice - Monday 19th December to Tuesday 3rd January - VEVS will be offering normal veterinary and after-hours, although during this period Dr Dave will not be doing routine dentistry appointments. We remind people to ring for appointments and general enquiries only between 8am & 5pm Mondays to Fridays. As always, if you have an emergency or if you are unsure if your horse's case is an emergency we are available 24/7, including Christmas Day!

We know many of you have kids at home so Fluffy has put together a Christmas special to keep them out of mischief! For the big kids Dr Kylie has written on ringworm, a common ailment which often pops up this time of year...

Ringworm

Ringworm (dermatophytosis) is due to a fungal skin infection (dermatophyte) rather than worms. The fungal species responsible are Microsporum and Trichophyton spp. This disease is highly contagious between horses...

Beware!

If you follow the VEVS Facebook Page you've already heard, but apparently people out Beaudesert-way have been fined large sums ($200-$300+) for not having horse feed/hay bales etc. completely tied down  . One was apparently fined a few hundred dollars for each individual item! Be careful folks, no-one wants that kind of bill at this time of year (or at any time of year, for that matter).

New Stable Floors @ VEVS

Follow this link to view our brand new stable floors, complete with 3 individual layers of rubber, and Animal Eco Bedding (environmentally friendly, super soft and dust free!)

If you need an equine vet...

Phone us on 5543 1213 or 0409 884 377 any time for emergencies
or between 8am - 5.00pm (Mon-Fri) for  general enquiries and appointments.
